Mary Anne L. from Arkansas, USA:

I have too many favorite covers to pick just one. But I think this one is especially eye-catching: WOMAN OF THE MISTS by Lynn Armistead McKee. I don't know who the artist is.

Diamond/Charter, September 1994

I dig the striking combination of landscape and figure art. The bold colors, the creative composition, the glow of the sky and sea, the air of mystery and transcendence---all combine to create a most memorable cover. The woman in the foreground looks perfectly at home in the long-ago primitive setting, yet a viewer can easily identify with her. Or at least, I could. And the string of golden embossed seashells at the top adds the right note of tropical ambiance.

I bought this book solely because of its cover art. Alas, the novel itself doesn't live up to its splendid cover. Therefore the first time I bought a book because of its cover was also the last time!

Laurie from New Mexico, USA:

"I saw your Reader's Favorite Cover announcement and just had to send my nomination of STRANGERS by Barbara Elsborg, an e-book released December 2, 2009.

Ellora's Cave

This cover is not only beautifully composed in soft, natural colors and elegant font, it captures the essence of the relationship between the hero and heroine in this extraordinary contemporary romance/erotica story. No bare-chested male or lover's clench needed--the sensuality and heat in the body language and look exchanged between the two characters absolutely sizzles.

I loved this cover so much, I printed and framed the image for my home office wall."

"I went back and looked at the covers from previous years of the cover contest, and I kept being drawn back to IN CAMELOT'S SHADOW by Sarah Zettel.

Harlequin, 2005

It reminds me of all the books I loved as a child, and I think it's still memorable even several years after I saw it for the first time."

Ann J. from Utica, NY:

"My Favorite cover is SHANNA by Kathleen Woodiwiss.

Harper Collins, 1977

I loved it since I first read it. I love how the couple is portrayed. It has a tropical feel which reminds me of a hot sultry night and a kiss on the neck is so romantic. The cover represents the story to perfection."

Lakeisha from Chicago, IL:

"My favorite would be A LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION by Rhyanna Byrd. I love this book cover because it's so sexy and sensuous.

Ellora's Cave

I mean you can see all the muscles of his stomach, every detail. It makes me feel like I was seeing a picture or that I'm right there and can touch every line and dip of his chest and stomach. It may be just me, but I tend to choose my romance novels by the cover; the hotter the better. And I believe I'm definitely an expert; I've been reading romance novels since I was 15 and I'm 30 now. "My favorite would be THE WINDFLOWER by Laura London (aka Sharon and Tom Curtis).

Doubleday, 2003

I liked the bright colors and the couple look like real people -- all in all a very sweet cover."

Cover Cafe's Jeanette:

"My absolute favorite of all times is a stepback from AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN by Julia Quinn. which was the TIC 2001 1st Place Winner. It's the most perfect stepback ever. The colors, the romance, the dress, the man and the coach in the back. It's all so very beautiful.

Avon
Stepback artist: Franco Accornero

I would love to have this as a painting in my house. Lots of older covers are outdated but this one will always look new.

I can look at it again and again."
